Heat presses draw a lot of current while they heat up. Wire yours like this and it will heat evenly, trip safely if something goes wrong, and keep you safe.

Key points

  • Always use a 16 A MCB to protect against overload and short circuits.
  • Use a 13 A wall socket for a safe, stable connection.
  • Proper earthing is mandatory.
  • Use 2.5 mm² copper wire throughout.
  • Switch the power off before connecting or servicing anything.
  • Make sure every connection is tight and properly insulated.

Use a qualified electrician

All wiring and installation must be done by a qualified electrician, using good-quality copper wire, certified sockets and reliable components. Cheap cords and accessories can overheat, short-circuit, start a fire or damage the machine.
